Shrine of the Sacred Heart

This is the largest outdoor shrine in America devoted to the Sacred Heart and everything here is beautiful. We spent several hours walking, praying and taking pictures. The shrine is built on the side of a hill and has five plateaus. The focal point is the statue of the Sacred Heart made of Carrara marble with a huge crown over the whole setting.

It serves as the National Headquarters of the Men of the Sacred Heart and also as the Diocesan Office for Apostleship of Prayer (League of the Sacred Heart).
