Pope John Paul II Cannonized Saint Katharine Drexel on October 1, 2000. Saint Katharine Drexel Shrine is at the Motherhouse of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in Bensalem, PA. She was pronounced Blessed by Pope John Paul II in November 1988. Saint Katharine served the poor Native Americans and African Americans from 1891 until her death in 1955 at age 96. She is buried at the Blessed Katharine Drexel Shrine. |
