National Shrine of

Saint Gerard

Newark, NJ

The feast to St. Gerard in the United States was started in St. Lucy's Parish in 1899 by a group from Caposele, Italy. In 1977, St. Girard's chapel in St. Lucy's Church was dedicated as a national shrine.  St. Girard is best known for his "motherhood" miracles.

Presently they are completing a remodeling project and is it beautiful!  Many new things mixed with the old. The entire area is being rebuilt .
