Basilica of the National Shrine

  of the Immaculate Conception

The Basilca of the National Shrine is the largest Roman Catholic church in the Western Hemisphere and the eighth largest church in the world. It contains sixty chapels displaying a wide variety of stained glass windows, mosaics and sculptures.

This a very beautiful Shrine and Basilica and you should plan to spend at least one or two days there in the presence of Our Lord.

   Directions:      

Fourth Street and Michigan Avenue NE 

 From US 1 take North Capitol St. NW to Michigan Avenue NE to the Basilica. Parking is across the street on Harewood Road. 

Mass is scheduled several times a day.
